Why should you vlog?

Vlogging is a quick, simple and cheap way to connect.

We all know that the best way to communicate is sitting in a room where you can actively persuade people, answer their questions and just get to know them. But you have other things to do!

Vlogging takes this principle and puts it online. You can share your passion for your business, your project, or your product to a vast online audience of potential clients. But more than that – you are showing something of yourself. You’re showing your expertise and professionalism – but also a bit of your personality.

If I’m going to donate to a charity I love to see the faces of the people who will be spending my money. If I’m hiring a lawyer or an accountant, I want to see if they are the kind of person I can work with.

Professional service experts, from lawyers and accountants to business coaches, can build audiences and followings on vlogs. There is a real lack of UK lawyers, for example, explaining the law for consumers or businesses in simple language. There’s a space there that needs to be filled. The Americans are, of course, all over it already.

Here in Wales, audiologist Marina Storina is blazing a trail, working with Rough Cut Media to create a series of vlogs to promote her business. Scroll down to see one of her vlogs.

The vlog above is another great example – aimed at persuading schools to take part in a dance competition. It’s such a lovely and passionate vlog which took just minutes to record. The pictures had already been gathered for other films.

At Rough Cut Media we believe that vlogging is a great way for businesses – especially professional service businesses – to sell themselves. So we’ve come up with some packages to help you get started.

We’ll film you in front of a green screen so you can choose the background you want (unless you have something else in mind – get in touch and we can discuss). Come to our base in Penarth near Cardiff and we’ll record your vlogs, and then edit them and send them to you in the cloud.

If you are a confident performer and know what you want to say, our basic packages are ideal for you. If you are a newby and want a bit of help and encouragement either in your performance or in planning what you want to say …. we have packages for that too.

If you would rather that we came to you – we can arrange that too. Just get in touch and we can talk through the options.
